Day 1: Opening of Equinox in Cusco
This wonderful journey begins at the Cusco international airport, where our team will be waiting for you to transfer you to the hotel, where you will be received with an authentic muña/coca tea, these are plants from the region that prevent altitude sickness due to that Cusco is located at an altitude of 11,500 feet above sea level. We will continue with a walk through the city to acclimatize you, ending with an Equinox and opening ceremony with aura cleansing and welcome dinner.
Day 3: Tour to the Sacred Valley, Pisaq and Ollantaytambo
The day will begin with a renewing session of yoga, movement and meditation, preparing us for an exciting day. Our path will guide us through the mountains north of Cusco, entering the exciting “Sacred Valley of the Incas”.
Our first stop will take us to the Taray viewpoint, located in the heart of the Sacred Valley, from where you can admire the panoramic views. Next, we’ll head to the impressive ruins of Pisac, where you’ll learn about the fascinating Inca culture, see works of stone art, and gaze at the majestic agricultural terraces that stretch before you. After exploring Pisac, we’ll descend into the lower town to immerse ourselves in the bustling craft market. Later, we will head to Urubamba to enjoy a delicious Pachamanca lunch, a unique culinary experience that will delight your senses.
Finally, after lunch, we will head to the Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo, an extraordinary site that features rock formations that symbolize the presence of the God Wiracocha. A day full of culture, natural beauty and authentic flavors that will immerse you in the magic of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
On this exciting day, we will wake up early, and to make sure we don’t miss the spectacular sunrise at Machu Picchu, our hotel will provide us with a packed breakfast. We will head to the Ollantaytambo train station and embark on an exciting journey to one of the wonders of the world. We’ll explore the viewpoint, capturing stunning images of Machu Picchu in the morning light, and then set off on our tour of its archaeological wonders. We will visit the Temple of the Sun, The Royal Tomb, The Intiwatana (the rock of the sphere of the sun), The Main Plaza, The Temple of the 3 Windows, The Artisan Sector, The Temple of the Condor and many other sites full of history and mystery.
After this immersion in the splendor of Machu Picchu, we will head to the charming town of Aguas Calientes to enjoy a comforting lunch and the opportunity to explore the surroundings. In the afternoon, we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo and return to the hotel, where we will have time to rest before meeting to share a memorable dinner.
Day 5: Maras Salt Mine, Moray, Chinchero
We will start our day with a revitalizing morning session of yoga, movement and meditation to prepare our body and mind. Then, we will transfer in our comfortable private bus to the impressive Salt Mines, where around 4,500 pools of salt await us. Our guide will give us a detailed explanation about the process of obtaining salt and we will have enough time to explore and purchase authentic souvenirs, made by the local community and farmers in the area.
Our next stop will take us to the Moray Agricultural Laboratory, a beautiful journey of approximately 40 minutes. During the trip, we will be able to admire the snow-capped peaks of the Andes, fields of golden wheat and picturesque towns. Finally, we will arrive at the amazing Moray Terrace. Moray has three amphitheaters formed by terraces deeply excavated in the shape of bowls by the Incas. It is believed that these structures were used to study and determine the optimal conditions for cultivation. After exploring this majestic site, we will participate in a beautiful Mother Earth Ceremony (Pachamama) before heading to Chinchero, where you can admire the emblematic animals of the Incas, including vicuñas, llamas, alpacas and guanacos. In addition, you will enjoy an exhibition on potato varieties and learn about the art of weaving and coloring wool at a local textile center.
Day 6: Vinicunca Mountain
This hike will take you through stunning Andean landscapes, revealing a natural wonder that defies the imagination. We will depart early in the morning, we will be picked up at the hotel and we will travel by car until we reach the checkpoint to begin the walk that will last approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, as we ascend the winding roads, we will witness a range spectacular colors that spread before us, like a rainbow on earth. During our hike, we will breathe the fresh air of the Andes and marvel at the unspoilt beauty that surrounds us. Our guide will share knowledge about the geology and culture of this region, delving into the history of the Mountain of 7 Colors and its spiritual meaning.
